Terms and conditions
All trips are operated by Four Seven Tours. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully, as they form part of your contract with us.
General Information
Clients will receive a detailed itinerary outlining the places to be visited and activities included, ensuring they know what to expect. All safari services agreed upon will be delivered, unless unforeseen circumstances—such as road closures, adverse weather, safety concerns, or other challenges—arise. In such cases, Four Seven Tours reserves the right to amend the itinerary as needed, always striving to maintain the same quality and essence of the trip.
Clients must understand that travel conditions in Tanzania differ from those in developed countries. Sudden and unannounced changes in government taxes or park fees may occur. In such cases, Four Seven Tours reserves the right to pass on these costs to the client.
Payment Terms
Upon confirmation of your booking, you will receive an invoice with full details. A 50% deposit of the itinerary cost is required to secure your reservation, while 100% prepayment is mandatory for airline tickets. The remaining balance must be paid 65 days before the scheduled start of your tour. For bookings made within 65 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Accepted Payment Methods
Payments can be made via bank transfer/wire.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation—partial or full—for any reason, the following charges will apply:
65+ days before departure: Deposit is non-refundable
50–65 days before departure: 50% of the total cost
0–50 days before departure: 100% of the total cost
Once confirmed, if you wish to make changes to your itinerary or travel dates, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, any additional costs will depend on the changes requested and availability.
Pricing and Website Information
All prices listed by Four Seven Tours are per person (based on two travelers unless stated otherwise) and are quoted in US Dollars (USD). Prices may change without prior notice due to external factors. Costs do not include visa fees, passport costs, border taxes, tipping, personal expenses, insurance, or additional excursions unless specified. Child discounts and peak-season surcharges are also not included unless stated.
All pricing displayed online is intended as a guideline only. Final costs will be clearly detailed in your official invoice.
Travel Documents
Clients will receive all necessary travel documents, including vouchers, e-tickets, luggage tags, and informational flyers, two weeks before departure.
Travel Insurance
It is a requirement that all guests obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance. This should cover medical expenses, emergency repatriation, and optionally: trip cancellations, curtailment, evacuation (e.g., Flying Doctors service), and personal loss/damage. Clients are fully responsible for obtaining and maintaining this insurance.
Passports and Visas
Guests are responsible for ensuring their passport and visa documents are valid. Most nationalities can obtain a tourist visa on arrival in Tanzania ($50 USD, $100 USD for U.S. citizens), valid for 90 days. Visas can also be obtained from Tanzanian embassies prior to travel.
Passports must be valid for at least six months after your travel ends. Four Seven Tours cannot be held liable for visa denials or costs incurred due to invalid travel documents.
Accuracy of Information
Please verify that all names and information on the invoice are correct. If name changes are requested more than three days after receiving the invoice, a change fee may apply.
Confirming your booking with Four Seven Tours is considered acceptance of all these terms and conditions.
Your Contract with Four Seven Tours
By booking with us, you enter into a binding agreement governed by the following conditions. These terms apply to all brochures, online listings, and communications. No representative, other than a company director, has authority to alter these terms.
Please review these conditions before booking. Payment of your deposit implies that you have read, understood, and accepted them.
Booking Procedures
Four Seven Tours offers both tailor-made and package safari holidays. A binding contract is established when:
(a) We receive a 50% deposit of the total cost, or
(b) We receive full payment for trips booked within 12 weeks of the departure date.
If full payment is not received 12 weeks prior to departure, we reserve the right to cancel your trip and apply cancellation charges accordingly.
If you’ve submitted your card details and have not opted out in writing, we reserve the right to process your balance payment when due.
The lead booker is responsible for the total payment and for sharing these terms with all group members. Acceptance of a quote must be followed by a 25% deposit within 14 days to lock in prices. Quotes may change if not accepted in time.
Medical Conditions and Disabilities
If you or anyone in your group has a medical condition or disability that may affect your trip, please notify us before confirming your booking. We reserve the right to decline a booking if we cannot accommodate specific needs, or to cancel later if critical information was not disclosed in time.
Documentation
Please double-check all confirmations, tickets, and related documents as soon as you receive them. Notify us within 14 days of any errors. We are not liable for any issues that arise due to undisclosed inaccuracies after this period.
Client-Initiated Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing and are effective from the date received. In addition to forfeiting your deposit and amendment fees, cancellation charges will be applied based on the time of cancellation.
Please note: International flights are 100% non-refundable.
Period before departure when we receive your written cancellation | Cancellation charge per person cancelling |
More than 65+ days | Deposit only |
Between 50 and 65 days | 50% |
0 and 50 days | 100% |
Price Surcharges
Prices are based on known costs at the time of itinerary issuance. Factors that may affect a surcharge include, but are not limited to, increases in transportation costs (e.g., fuel), airline fares, taxes, park or reserve fees, and other service charges.
Four Seven Tours reserves the right to apply a surcharge if costs rise before full payment is made. We will absorb up to 2% of the total cost; any amount beyond that will be charged. If the surcharge exceeds 10%, you may cancel and receive a full refund.
We also reserve the right to correct pricing errors before confirmation and will inform you of any changes at the time of booking.
Amendments by You
Changes to your itinerary after deposit are possible upon written request. A fee of $75 per person applies ($100 for U.S. residents). Changes requested within 12 weeks of departure are treated as cancellations and are subject to the terms outlined in Paragraph 5.
Cancellations by Four Seven Tours
We reserve the right to cancel your booking for any reason prior to full payment. If this occurs, you will receive a full refund or an alternative holiday of similar value, plus $75 compensation per person.
We may cancel your booking if you fail to meet any of our booking conditions.
Force Majeure: We cannot accept responsibility or offer compensation for cancellations or changes caused by events beyond our control, such as war, civil unrest, natural disasters, epidemics, or changes to airline schedules.
Amendments by Four Seven Tours
While changes are rare, we reserve the right to amend your itinerary. Minor changes will be communicated as early as possible. For major changes (e.g., flight time shifts over 12 hours or significant accommodation downgrades), you may accept the new arrangement, book another holiday, or cancel for a full refund.
No compensation is payable in cases of force majeure or minor changes. Compensation does not apply to children under 2.
We are not liable for losses or expenses that could not have been reasonably foreseen or are unrelated to our breach of contract.
Our Responsibilities
We ensure the services in your itinerary are delivered as described. However, we are not responsible for services not included in our agreement (e.g., activities booked directly with hotels).
Descriptions in our brochure or website are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication. Activities mentioned but not operated by us (e.g., excursions) are not part of your contract with Four Seven Tours, even if we assist in booking. We act solely as agents and bear no liability for these third-party services.
Liability
We accept liability for services within our control that fall short of reasonable standards and for negligent acts of our staff or suppliers causing death, injury, or illness. Except in these cases, our liability is limited to 200% of the total holiday price.
We are not liable for issues caused by:
Your actions or those in your party.
Unpredictable actions of third parties.
Events outside our control, including force majeure.
Business-related losses.
Transport-related claims are subject to the terms of international conventions (Warsaw, Athens, Berne, Geneva), which may limit the carrier’s liability.
Carriers
Air and sea travel are subject to the conditions of carriers and applicable conventions. We are not liable for cancellations, delays, strikes, or other disruptions not directly caused by Four Seven Tours.
Waiver of Claims Against Introducers
If you were referred by a third party (e.g., a travel agent), you agree not to hold them liable for any issues. All concerns should be directed to Four Seven Tours.
Problems During Your Trip
If issues arise during your trip, notify your local organizer (hotel manager, safari guide, etc.) immediately. If not resolved, you must submit a written complaint to us within 28 days of your return. Failure to follow this process may affect our ability to assist or offer compensation.
